Pregnancy and Postnatal Physiotherapy
Pregnancy and birth place large demands on your body, and it’s common to need extra support.
Our physiotherapists help you manage pain, stay active and recover safely after birth.

We offer both individual and group appointments designed around your changing needs throughout pregnancy and early motherhood.
We commonly support women with:
- Pelvic girdle pain and back pain
- Bladder and bowel difficulties
- Pelvic floor muscle dysfunction
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Diastasis Recti (DRAM)
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
The physiotherapy department treats conditions associated with pregnancy only. If you have a pre-existing condition or one which is not associated with your pregnancy, it is safe to continue to see your own physiotherapist.
This service is referral‑based — your GP, midwife or doctor can refer you. GPs can email referrals to physio@nmh.ie.
