Cervical Review Clinic
Assessment and review following a clinical concern identified during cervical examination or screening.
For symptoms such as abnormal bleeding or vaginal discharge.
Most patients are seen within six weeks of referral.
Some test results may be needed before your appointment.
The Cervical Review Clinic provides assessment when there is a clinical concern following a speculum examination carried out by a healthcare professional.
You may be referred to the Cervical Review Clinic if a medical professional has identified a concern during:
- Routine cervical screening
- Assessment for abnormal bleeding
- Investigation of vaginal discharge
Patients are usually seen within six weeks of the referral being received.
Preparing for your appointment
- To help avoid delays and ensure your appointment runs smoothly, please arrange the following in advance:
- If swabs were taken by your GP to test for infection, request a copy of the results from your GP.
- If you are aged 25–65, please send a copy of your most recent cervical screening result.
All results should be emailed to gynae@nmh.ie before your appointment.
Please include your full name, date of birth and hospital number which you can find on your appointment letter.
